The Ride Updated - January 20th, 2013
We are still diligently watching the weather and waiting for any sign that the snowmobile trails will be open next weekend. While some of Minnesota's trail system is open, the trails along the Yeti Tour route are not open at this time. For that reason we unfortunately must put the ride portion of Yeti Tour 2013 on hold. This means that we do not intend to ride next weekend, and the snowmobile demo rides will not take place, given the current conditions and the upcoming weather forecast. However, if the snow comes and the trails are open we'll be out there! We will report back this week with any updates if and when the opportunity presents itself. Despite the lack of snow, Yeti Tour 2013 will go on! Please see the updated above itinerary for more information.
The route will take us through Fish Lake, Canyon, Alborn, and along the St. Louis River through Cloquet. We will be returning the same way on Sunday.
Any and all riders are welcome - invite your friends and family! The ride itself will be informal with riders going at their own pace. Riders are encouraged to travel in teams and support each other along the trail. The route is 100 miles each direction. At a pace of 20 mph the ride should take 5 hours. Gas and food are available at several stops along the route at no greater than 40 mile intervals. The trail will be marked with signs indicating the route and maps of the route will be provided for each rider. Accommodations can be made for any rider with specific needs. If you require assistance with trailing or your vehicle please let us know in advance. We will coordinate transporting luggage and gear both days of the ride. Overnight parking is available at The Sunset. A support vehicle will be provided in case of breakdowns or special needs. Please contact us if you have any needs or other questions or concerns.
We ask the riders be respectful of others on the trail the weekend of the ride, always obey speed limits and refrain from alcohol use during the ride. Thank you!
